Friday Night in the Park

These are pictures of the rain and some of the performers we saw at the show. By the time the show was over, our stuff was very wet and there was a huge lake at the bottom of the hill.

Friday Night

This past Friday night, with the Fourniers and the Gees, we set out for a picnic in Herman park to watch the Chinese acrobats perform. We found a spot on the hill and began to eat our dinner. The show was to start at 8:00 and around 7:00 the rains began. All the girls went for cover while the men, stayed under a tarp or umbrella. It was lightening and thundering but we stayed to see the show. After about 30 minutes Miller Outdoor opened seating and the men game down for the show. Russ looked like a drowned rat. He got very wet coming to sit with us. We were so glad we stayed. The show was awesome and Sarah loved watching the performers. We didn't get home until around 11:00 and of course Sarah was up at 5:30 the next morning. More pictures to come.

Last Sunday

Last Sunday Russ, Sarah and I got up very early and drove to San Antonio to be with Oma. She was presenting her book about the Church's first 105 years. She and Russ had worked for 5 years to get this book going and she was presenting a leather bound book to the church. We didn't want her to be alone so we took the long trek there and back all in one day. Oma seemed very happy that we were there.
After church and lunch, we went back to Oma's and played out in the backyard. Sarah was a dog on a leach.

Sarah and her dad played the guitar and gave me a concert. It was quite a fun afternoon.

The Rain

Well the rains began on Friday and kept on coming. Friday night Russ and I were supposed to go to Radio Music Theater but never make it. On our way to dinner, Janet called to let me know that the smoke detector was going off and Sarah was hysterical. 20 minutes later when we got to the theater, Sarah was still having a hard time and screaming for us that we decided to drive home. We suggested that Janet take her hearing aids out. When we arrived home, Sarah and Janet were in her car waiting on us. Sarah was still crying, grabbed my neck and wouldn't let go. Russ went inside to check things out and the candle we had left lit, was smoking up the house. Russ blew it out, and we opened the doors and everything went back to the way it was supposed to be. Sarah kept asking Janet to call the police to help them. She knew that when the fire alarm goes off, you call the police/firemen. It took Sarah a long time to go to sleep, and we never got to the theater.
Sarah woke very early on Saturday and off we were going. We had swimming in the a.m. and since the rains began to really fall, we went to lunch at El Gallo, shopping for new clothes at Value Village and came home. We never made it bowling with the Parisians. The weather was so bad we stayed in and the girls came over to play for a little while.
On Sunday we are going to drive to San Antonio to support Russ' mom while she gives a book, that she wrote, to the church about the church. None of his brothers are going to be there and he wanted someone to be there to support her. We will leave very early and come back very late. It will just make it easier on Mom if she has someone there with her.

Easter with the Fourniers

After church we went over to the Fourniers. We picked up Janet. Not only were Craig, Darlene and the girls there but also Craig's sister Debbie and her family and Vicki, his other sister. We had a great time eating lunch, which everyone brought something for, hiding and finding eggs, cascarones (confetti eggs) and dessert and talking. I have never seen so much confetti inside my clothes. I am so glad they invited us.

Happy Easter

We have had a very full day and lots of fun in the process. This morning, Sarah and I got up and looked at what the Easter Bunny brought to her. Then after waking daddy and having breakfast we went to Cinco Ranch Church and had an egg hunt. Then Sarah and I went and emptied the eggs so that the church can use them again next year. Sarah also got to sit on the Easter bunny's lap.

More Zoo!

Saturday at the Zoo

On Saturday we woke up and decided to go on a safari. We talked about going to the butterfly museum but Sarah had other ideas. She wanted to go to the zoo. So off we went. We had a great time and shared a great deal of memories.

Children's Museum

Today

Today was a special day in that Russ and I both were not working and Sarah was also out of school. We decided to go on an adventure and take Sarah tot he Children's museum. We had a blast. Each room had lots to do and Sarah never wanted to leave every room. In the end she wanted to get an animal, a lion names Shegwa, and we left. It was a great time and we all were worn out.
