Cupcakes

Today when we got home from the Chinese New Year celebration, Sarah and I made cupcakes for my Longaberger party tomorrow. Sarah loves to cook. She loves to like the spatula and beaters also.

Lion Dancers

The lion dancers were performing at the Ocean Palace. Sarah had a hard time with how loud the drummer was but after we turned off her hearing aids she did much better. She wouldn't leave Dad's lap but she watched it all.

Dim Sum

After the community center we went over to Ocean Palace and had dim sum. This is a variety of foods that people walk around with on carts and if you want something off of their cart, you stop them and they give you a portion. The most popular or good dishes were the shrimp potstickers and the noodles. Sure wish I knew how they made the noodles. They also had lion dancers come and perform for us. It was a great day. The people in the pictures were Wendy, John and Catherine, Elisa and Steve, Russ and Sarah, me and Sarah and then Craig, Darlene, Claire, Abby, Riley and Savannah.

Gung Hey Fat Choy

Happy Chinese New year. This is the year of the Ox. Today we met the Norris', Fourniers and some of their friends and went to the Chinese New Year Celebration at the Chinese Community Center. We watched the Pigs dance and welcome the Ox, the mice dance, some girls that did Chinese dancing and then a lady change faces with a flick of her head. She had many faces that changed quite a bit. Some of the girls got thier faces painted. We had a man cut out a silloette of Sarah and then had it mounted to a paper with an ox at the bottem. We also watched some kids from the community center sing some Chinese songs.

oops

I put a picture of the Pettey gang on the last blog. The Pettey's came over for MLK day and we had a wonderful evening of dinner and games. The pictures I am posting here are of Sarah doing yoga on the mat and then her drawings that she did tonight for Russ. Russ is feeling very bad and Sarah was trying to make him feel better. The first picture is of Pepper and Sarah Wednesday night. Pepper was having a great time visiting with Sarah and the dogs.

Cupcakes

Wednesday night the gang came over for dinner. We of course had bus chicken. It was yummy. After dinner, Allison and Sarah made cupcakes.

Manna's newest member of the family

Manna came over this morning with a new member of the family. Her name is Pepper and she is about 1 year old. She is a beige and brown puppy that is full of life. She loved running around in the backyard. Sydney and Elise were here and everyone had fun. Pepper even barked at the wind and leaves as they fell. We also got Manna on a swing. She wants one if she had a backyard. Then the girls came in and Elise put the parrot on Russ' guitar. He has also been teaching Sydney how to play the blues.

Oustide today

Sarah, Russ and I had a great time today relaxing outside and doing nothing but playing. Here are a few of the pictures from today. Sarah was playing Santa on her sleigh and using the bucket swing as her reins. She then decided to place Pickle the cat on the back and drive it around.
