Pictures of Christmas Evening

Here are the pictures I promised yesterday. I have also put a video of Sarah being the Fiddler of the Roof. Sarah got a violin from Manna and began to dance and play. It was quite a show!!

Christmas Evening

We had the Fourniers over for for dinner tonight. They brought beans, augratin potatoes, rolls and cookies. Janet also brought rolls and ambrosia salad. We made a tur-duck-n and it was actually pretty good. We also made jello, green bean casserole and sweet carrots. Mona made a chocolate cake for us to celebrate Jesus' birthday. Darlene read a story to the kids and then we sang happy birthday. Everything was really good. The girls had a great time playing and laughing and making a mess they began to play with the train. The only pictures I got was of the girls playing with the train. Then as we were saying goodbye, Sarah began to play her new violin. She was the Fiddler on the Roof and was dancing around. I will post pictures tomorrow as the computer is going to slow and I have tried twice to upload them and it hasn't worked.

Sarah the Archaeologist

Manna gave Sarah and kit to dig out a dinosaur. Sarah and dad went outside and started digging. She used a hammer and spike and a brush and put on her safety glasses. She began to dig and decided that she needed gloves to protect her hands. She chiseled into the rock and made a hole. She checked out the hole by looking in and using her finger. She was very excited to see the bones. She wanted to know if the dinosaur was 'intact or not'. She used the brush and tools to chisel some more until she found the pieces to the dinosaur. She was very careful not to pound on the bones. After finding all the bones, she helped clean up and then she and Dad put the dinosaur together. It was a T-Rex.

Christmas Morning

WOW! The house exploded with gifts from Santa and Mom and Dad. I am not sure who was more excited this morning, Sarah or Mona. Sarah came in and woke us at 7:15 and we made her wake Mona. Then we all went out to see if Santa had come. Boy did he. It took us around 1 1/2 hours to get through everything.










In between opening Santa's gifts and Manna coming, the girls played and sang to new CDs and we ate breakfast.


Janet came over around 11:30 and we had Christmas again. She brought over some great gifts and Sarah and Mona each gave her some. All in all we had a wonderful morning and are looking forward to the Fournier's coming over for dinner and playing.

Out of order again Gingerbread Houses

The whole gang (friends that all have adopted children from china) came over for our tradional gingerbread house building. Each family was to bring a bag of candy and I made the houses by hot gluing the graham crackers together. My friends laughted at me for gluing them but they stayed together well. The parents couldn't help but step in and help in many situations but the kids had a fabulous time. The Gee's, Fournier's, Aguilar's, Gylling's, Norris, and the Hunt's along with Manna joined us.Each family also brought snakcs to munch on and we played and talked the day away.





We had a fabulous day making gingerbread houses with lots of different families with chilren from China. The Navarro's, Aguilar's, Fournier's, Gee's, Norris', Gylling's and the Hunt's were all there. Each family had to bring a bag of candy to decorate the houses and I hot glued the houses together. Everyone also brought snacks to eat and we showed everyone pictures of Micah.

December 19th

I am so out of order but haven't had time to blog in such a long time. I wanted to share our trip to College Station to Santa's Winter Wonderland. It is a small amusement park of Lights, and an old western town with a big fire and hay stacks to sit on and listen to music, shopping opportunities, pony rides, petting area, mechanical bull, Frosty the gunslinger and of course Santa. We had the best hot chocolate I have ever had. We also went on a hayride around the park to see the lights. It was unbelievable. Sarah was in awe the whole time looking at one set of lights to the next. Her favorite part was seeing Jesus go up from the tomb in lights and be surrounded by lights and angels. Russ and I loved sitting by the fire and listening to the music. Claire decided to drink hot chocolate with her nose and Sarah wanted to be a cowgirl with hay in her mouth. We had Elvis, Frank Sinatra and Roy Orbison sing to us. We went with the Gee's, Fourier's, Aguilar's and met another family up there. We stayed over night at the La Quinta. It was a wonderful evening.
