Sarah turns 6 for real

It is amazing to me how a little girl I have wished for all my life can bring such joy and happiness. Sarah actually turned 6 yesterday and it seems like we just brought her home. She has grown so much in the last 5 years. She now will go with her friends and leave her mom and dad behind with not even a kiss goodbye. She sleeps out with Aunt Marcy and is now riding a big girl bike (with training wheels). She loves her little sister and shares with her at all times. Sarah's favorite thing to do is watch me change Micah's diaper. She likes it the most when it is poopie. I am so proud of her that it sometimes hurts. Happy Birthday Sarah!!

Today at the hotel/Happy Father's Day

Sarah slept at the hotel with Aunt Marcy and Uncle Jim. They watched the Tooth Fairy movie and had popcorn and cotton candy. In the morning, we all went over and swam for about 4 hours. Micah was again in her floaty and loved being in the water. Sarah met some kids and played with them for a long time. While Micah and I were upstairs resting, Sarah told her dad she wanted to be baptized under the fountain. She thought that was a great thing to do. This evening, {because it was father's day} we took dad to Tan Tan for authentic Chinese/Vietnamese food. After we went to Baskin Robbins for ice cream!

Micah sleeps in the water

Micah loves to be in the water. Aunt Marcy had her in the water for about 2 1/2 hours. She was so relaxed, she fell asleep in the water. She was so cute!! There is also a great picture of Sarah, Abby and Matthew (Sarah's friend from school).

Sarah's 6th birthday party

Sarah and Abby had their 6th birthday party on Saturday June 19th. This was also Abby's actual birthday. We had it at our association pool and had about 45ish people there. Marcy and Jim and Zaidie came from Dallas and we had a great time. We stayed at the pool for about 4 hours and then came back to the house where Zaidie, Aunt Marcy and Uncle Jim gave Sarah a new bicycle. It is black and white and has pirate words and pictures on it. It even has a skull and crossbones flag in the back.
Sarah wanted to spend the night with Aunt Marcy and Uncle Jim so I gave her one of her birthday presents early. She wanted a dolphin pillow pet that I bought earlier in the month. On Sunday we went to the hotel where Aunt Marcy was staying and swam all day.

Making Sarah's Birthday Cake

Tonight Russ and I decorated Sarah and Abby's 6th birthday cake. Sarah wanted a dolphin jumping out of the water cake. So we made a lagoon and sandy area with lounging people and umbrellas. There are fish in the water. Abby wanted the umbrella's. We sure hope they like it!

Silly Sarah

I was folding clean clothes and Sarah found Russ' underwear and decided to put it on. She thought she was so funny running around the house with "Daddy's panties" on. I had embroidered Mr. Incredible on the front and Sarah laughed hard.

Friend sleeps over

Sarah had her first friend sleep over last night. Abby and Sarah made a few crafts(a lady bug or tiger, a picture frame and then a picture) then had cookies that Abby made and then played and slept in the front room. They both were up at 7 this morning ready to go! We ate pancakes and eggs for breakfast.

Mona's last day!

Today was Mona's last day in Texas. We got up and went to Jame Avery where we put charms she got last night at her going away party on and I bought her one more, 'the swimmer'. Then we did some errands and went home to get the gang. Janet came over to go to the airport with us. We went back to James Avery to get her bracelet and then to Hickory Hollow for bar-b-que. Then it was off the the airport. We got there in plenty of time and the Continental agent gave us passes so that we could go to the gate and say goodbye to Mona. We stayed with her until the plane boarded. We had a group hug and said our goodbyes. Mona didn't want to leave and we kind of wanted her to stay. We promised to stay in touch and see her again soon on Skype.

More pictures of Mona's Going Away Party

Mona's Going away party

Tonight was Mona's going away party. We had a wonderful time with friends and 'family'. Mona made hot pot that everyone tried and loved. We had chicken, shrimp, beef, fungus, glass noodles, carrots and bean sprouts to put in it. The girls all got in the pools in the backyard and blew bubbles. The Fourniers, Gees, Parisians, Brothers, Norris', Janet, Jill and Kameron and a friend of Mona's that is also a foreign exchange student and her host mom. The Fourniers stayed late and we had left overs and races. Everyone is going to miss Mona.

Mona's Last Supper (before going to China)

We celebrated Mona's last days here in Houston by going to Bucco De Beppo. We sat in the kitchen and ate a meal of Cesar salad, spaghetti and meatballs, cheesy garlic bread and the most wonderful dessert. It was double chocolate brownie with vanilla and chocolate ice cream with whipped cream and sprinkles on top. there was a cherry on the very top. We brought home most of the meal and dessert as we had been eating all day. I think Mona had a great time.
