Chinese New Year second go round
What a wonderful day we had. FCCH had a Chinese New Year celebration at the International Trade Center. When we got there we were handed a bag with some things in it. Then we watched the girls dance. They were very pretty and did a wonderful job. After, we went and had pictures taken by a photographer. Sarah fell in love with the tigers that were for the pictures. The photographer fell in love with Sarah and asked if she could use her on her website. I will have to check to see if she is there. After, Sarah wanted to go play games outside. She had a blast playing the games. Some of them were; bowling, ring toss, money toss, chopstick race, duck ring toss and many more. They also had finger foods to taste and try. There was a silent auction that went on thoughout the day. They also had lion dancers, and at the end had a lanturn walk with popping bubbles. They gave the kids many little gifts. We took Janet and Wendy and Emma with us. We met up with the Fourniers and the Norris' and went to dinner all together. Craig and I had our family picture taken with all the kids. Everyone was happy and very tired!!

Chinese New Year
What a wonderful Chinese New Year celebration we had. We started in the morning off with Valentine's and sleeping in. Then after lunch we got dressed in our Chinese dresses and went to the Gylling's house to celebrate The Year of the Tiger. There were 7-8 different families there and all the girls were dressed up. When we got there, they were beginning to make dumplings. It was hard to get Sarah interested but once she made one, she made 100. The adults also liked making the dumplings. After dumpling making, we made crafts. Donna had 3 different crafts for the girls to make. There was a take out box to decorate, a mobile to make and zodiac scratch off coloring. All the girls had fun with the crafts.
We went ourtide to take pictures of the firls and some adults with the lion head on and then went in and ate and played the Wii. The girls were playing the guitar, drums and singing to the Beatles. It was a fabulous day. Each girl went home with 3red envelopes. It was a good thing we had Monday off the recoperate from the weekend.

100 day at school
Today was 100 day at school. Everyone was asked to dress as they would look at 100 years old. Russ got up early and painted my face and then I applied makeup so that I would also look 100. I had bought a grey wig at Party City. Russ and I picked out clothes for the day and I had a good time fooling the kids and teachers. I had several want to know if I were a sub or needed help.

Mona in Willy Wonka
Mona was in the production of Willy Wonka at Spring Woods High School. She was an Oompa Loompa. She has done a fabulous job training and practicing for the musical and was just fabulous in it. Lydia O'Quinn and Alyson O'Quinn were also in it. Sarah loved watching the musical. Her favorite part was when a real cow comes out on stage. I think Mona's(and all the performers) favorite is the fact that the cow is pregnant and pees and poops back stage. We went to see her opening night and so did some of her friends from China. It will take her a long time to come down from all the excitement.

Meeting up with Cousin Susie
Richter Reunion 2010
Oma (Hazel Meckel Richter) has a family reunion every year. Russ and I have been going since we started dating back in 1997. We have missed a few but not many. This year it was out in Bulverde at a rec. center. We get to see cousins we haven't seen in a year but this year it has been 2 years. Last year, Oma got sick so we didn't go. Sarah has new cousins that none of us had met but it was fun to meet them this year. We also got to see cousins we have missed over the year. Sarah's new cousin's, Hailey, Carly and Travis all played very well together. Next year we will take Micah and she will be the newest!!
