Passover

Yesterday was Passover. It was pretty cool. For the first time, Sarah read the story of Exodus all by herself. She has a kids bible that she likes to read at night before going to bed and she told us she wanted to read the story at the Seder. I was so proud of her. I cried thinking how my mom and dad would have been so proud to listen to her. It was the greatest feeling to hear my child reading and doing a fabulous job!
We invited Jill and Camereon (he didn't come) Allison, Homer and Ollen, Janet, and Sarah and James (Sarah Glaze and James Borello from school. Russ made the first addition of the Richter Haggadah and led the seder wonderfully. Everyone seemed to enjoy the seder and the meal. Sarah went looking for the afikoma and got 4 gold dollars for it. Micah and Ollen and Camereon each got 1 gold dollar.
On another note, Micah is having trouble with speech. She doesn't speak but usually screams at us and pulls at us to let us know what she wants. We try over and over to get her to repeat sounds but she usually will just smile at us and moves on. I think ECI is helping but am very worried about her speech. She also loves to hit. Everyone is working with her to get her to stop the hitting. I think it is beginning to work but can't be too sure. She still likes to throw her food when she is done and will still hold food in her mouth until it either runs out of her mouth or we scrap it out.

Today we spent the day doing things inside and out. Micah has been sick for 3 days and today was the first day she felt better. While she napped, Sarah and I went to buy ladybugs, soil, strawberry plants, basil and bluebonnets. We got home and planted the basil and bluebonnets and then dad made a stand for the strawberry plants. After finishing with all the planting, we released the ladybugs and played with them for awhile. There were ladybugs every where; even in our shirts and hair. It was lots of fun to play as a family.

More pictures from my camera

These are pictures from my phone camera. They are pictures of Micah's birthday, and the rodeo. Most of the pictures are from Sarah getting ready to Mutton Bust and then of Abby and Sarah playing with worms.

Kemah Boardwalk

Today was a fabulous day with Catherine and John Norris. Wendy was at home sick. We hope she gets better soon. The weather was a little chilly for playing in the water fountains but we had fun anyway. We rode the carousal, the train, and a few other rides. We went to lunch at Joe's Crab shack and then had ice cream later in the day. The girls all had fun going on the rides and playing with each other. Today was also a celebration of Catherine's gotcha day. It has been 3 years since the Norris' became a forever family. We are very lucky to have them as "family".

The Zoo

Sarah, Micah and I went to the zoo on Tuesday with Jim and Kelli Tuschman and their kids Mei and Max. We had a great time and the Zoo has made some wonderful changes since the last time we were there. We saw the new African exhibit, the flamingos, birds, tiger and then had lunch and rode the train. The girls had a great time.

St. Paddy's Day

St.Paddy's day is tomorrow and now I am ready. On Sunday we went with friends to a St. Patrick's Day parade in Champion Forest. We camped out on the lawn along 1960 and then they closed off the street and had a very good parade. We spent the day with the Fourniers, Gees, Gyllings and the Norris'. The girls seemed to love getting beads, and candy that was thrown off of all the floats. We are thinking that next year, we need to have a float and have the girls dress in green shirts with the slogan Kiss me I'm Irish! It was a great day with great friends.

Mutton Bustin 2011

Sarah became a Mutton Buster at the rodeo this year. She ahd to be 5-6 and weigh less then 60 lbs. She was so excited about doing it. They took her into a penned in area and gave her a protective vest. When it became her time to ride, they placed a helmet on ehr head also. There were adults there to talk her through the whole deal. SHe had a huge smile on ehr face the whole time. She didn't get too far but to her she won first place. they gave all the kids scores but I couldn't tell you want they were. SHe told us later that the sheep smelled "baaaaad" She also recieved a back pack with a number 3 card, a black ribbon of participation and a certificate of completion.
