Sarah's 7th birthday party

Sarah had an at home birthday party this year. She invited her entire class and then some other friends and family. There were 15 boys and girls here along with quite a few moms and dads. John the Science Quest guy came to do science experiments and show off some really cool animals he calls pets. He brought a parrot, a hedgehog, two snakes, a skink, breaded dragon, ferret, turtle, and chinchilla. The kids got to hold and or pet each one of the animals. I think Micah liked the turtle the best and Sarah liked the parrot the best. It sat on her head. John also did some really cool experiments. He had a smoke machine with a drum that he blew smoke rings with, he crushed cans with warm and cool water, he blew toilet paper off of a paint roller with a leaf blower, he had a hover craft that the kids got to ride on, and he blew fire with Bianca and a lighter. Not only were the kids entertained but also the adults. He also made slime with the kids as a gift to go home with them. After he was done we just had time to eat Chick-fil-a, fruit and have ice cream sandwiches for dessert.
All in all I think Sarah and her friends had a great time.. Her friends from school were: Matthew, Brian, Evan, Jordan, Christina, Maddie, and Gianna. Mrs. Arguijo also came which made the kids day! The other friends that came were: Abby, Claire, Hannah, Emma, Isabella, Anna, Kameron, and Catherine.

Micah's first haircut

I have been wanting to get Micah's haircut for awhile, I just didn't know where to go. My sister comes to town and finds a place called Little Lords and Ladies and when she was in town, we went on a family excursion to get Micah's hair cut. It took all of 3 1/2 minutes for the woman to cut Micah's hair. The lady was fabulous. She gave Micah 2 lollipops, one for each hand, and started snipping immediately. Micah did some fussing but with coaxing from me and Aunt Marcy, it was over before we knew it. Micah had a new haircut and looked beautiful and more like a little girl than a baby. On one hand I was sad but I was also so glad to see how cute she looked.

Our friend Ollen's 1st birthday!

Ollen had his first birthday in May and Sarah, Micah, Dad and Mom went as well as Emma Gee. The girls had a great time with all the farm animals. There were chickens, rabbits, little turtles and a huge turtle, goats, and 2 horses. One to ride and one to comb and pet. Sarah befriended a baby chick and never let it down. It actually fell asleep in her hands it was so comfortable. She even asked if we could take the chick home. When it was time for the animals to go home, Sarah and Emma put the big turtle in a wash tub, picked it up and took it to the truck. Micah was nervous at first of all the animals but towards the end of the party started chasing one of the goats around. Ollen had a John Deere cake that Allison had made and was shy at first about eating the cake but then went to it and enjoyed eating it immensely. Micah also got to have her picture taken in a John Deere baseball cap. Everyone had a great time.

Mother's Day at Sarah's school

Sarah's 1st grade class had a mother's day program today. Both dual language classes did it together. We started in Mrs.Arguijo's room where she read us Love You Forever. Then we walked to the cafeteria where the kids sang 2-3 songs and read 2 poems. The kids then passed out roses to all the moms and grandmothers. After, we had cookies and lemonade.
I learned today that in Mexico Mother's Day is always celebrated on the 10th of May no matter what day of the week it is.
