MLK weekend

We were supposed to go to San Antonio but Russ' mom got sick and didn't want us to come so... We got up this morning and went to swimming lessons. After swimming we went grocery shopping and then came home. Russ and Sarah played for awhile and I took a map. Since tonight we are going to the Parisian's for dinner, Sarah wanted to bake cookies. We got out the easy bake oven. The recipe made 6 cookies and we burned 3 of them. But she had a great time cooking. And of course she had to clean up after. It was a great deal of fun for all of us.

More recital

Sarah's recital

Sarah had her 2nd ballet/tap/gymnastics recital tonight. It was at the little Gym and she was a ham. Manna, Allison, the Parisians and Laura and Ed Mohar came. Sarah was very cute and got flowers from her mom and dad and Manna. She was very happy tonight. As always she was the best one out there.

Sarah and her friend

Sarah had a playdate with CeCe from her class. They spent most of the afternoon outside on the playground and airplane. When they did come in, they had hot chocolate and wanted to go back out. They played for a little while inside, but went back to playing out.

Saturday Night

Saturday night we went out with the Parisian to the Backyard Grill. We had these sealed envelopes that we were given the last time we went and so we had to find out what was in them. Only the waitstaff was allowed to open them. The Parisians won a free chips and salsa and we won a free breakfast, We were bummed we didn't win the flat screen TV. Oh well we had fun anyway. I'm not sure who had more fun, the kids making faces at Russ and the camera or the adults making smores.

Pictures of yesterday

My friend Wendy took a great deal of pictures of Sarah, Catherine and John while we were playing out in the back yard. Here are a few. I will not bore you with the 53 she took and I downloaded. Thanks Wendy!!

It's a first

Today has been a very nice day at home with lots of firsts. Sarah actually touched and ran in the grass around her playground, barefoot. She has never wanted to touch the grass, much less run in it, without shoes. The 2nd first was the Norris' came over for the first time this year. (I know it is only the 3rd of January but...) And the 3rd is that Sarah asked for more chicken tonight at dinner. We went to Chili's with the Norris' and Russ and Sarah shared the Monterrey Chicken and she loved the way it tasted. Catherine is a blast to watch. She is full of energy and loves to kiss everyone. It was a wonderful day!!! She is in to everything and just as she opens something she is off to something else. We are very fortunate to have them in our lives. Wendy is into taking pictures and I dropped our camera and broke it today so I have no pictures to share.
