Hurricane Ike 2

I forgot to tell you how fabulous Sarah was through this whole ordeal. She woke up in the middle of the night but went back to sleep after we talked about what was going on. During the day, she played a great deal by herself or with Manna (Janet). She ate what ever was made for us and did it on her own. She never threw a fit. On Saturday night, when it was so hot, she woke up and was very upset about all the mosquito bites she had gotten, but after putting lotion on them, and Dad fanning her, she fell back to sleep until about 7:30ish. It was miserable so we packed up and drove to San Antonio. She watched a movie on the way and them played at Oma's house by her self or with Russ and I without ever balking. Sarah also slept in her own bed in her own room at Oma's. It was wonderful to see. She needed extra help going to sleep but slept until about 7:45. When we got up on Monday and packed up to leave, she let us work and when we drove about 45 minutes and turned around only to have gone 7-8 miles, she was all smiles.
We went to Target and bought her a little computer that she had been asking for. Oma had given her some money and we pitched in the rest. We told her it was not only for her birthday but also for being so fabulous. We then went to Oma's and rested, went to dinner with Oma and Uncle Harold and Aunt Karen and then left for Houston. We left San Antonio at 9 and got home around midnight. Sarah was wonderful. I have never been so impressed with a 4 year old before.
